What's Gold Vermeil?

Vermeil, or "silver gilt," refers to high-quality (pure or sterling) silver plated with a thin layer of gold. Most vermeil jewelry available now is created by electroplating the silver with gold, a chemical process that uses an electrical current to bind the two metals together. Gold Vermeil will wear off because it is plated. We also have a 925 Sterling Silver option. If Gold Plating wearing off is an issue, please do not purchase this item. The Speed at which a piece fades depends on your body chemistry, climate, and the frequency it is worn. 

Due to the handmade nature of my medals, they are always different. Each time they're always pressed differently. You can always ask for a photo of the current piece since this item has no returns. This necklace is not meant to be worn in the water or during "wet" activities. Remove the chain before bed to prolong the life span of the piece.

To extend the life of your gold-filled and vermeil jewelry, avoid wearing it when washing hands, showering, applying lotion, using harsh cleaning supplies, or working out. To clean, buff gently with a soft and dry 100% cotton or microfiber cloth. Do not use jewelry cleaner on gold-filled jewelry.
